THE BIG SPLASH OPEN IN CARTHAGE, MO (TO BE HELD THIS SATURDAY the 11th) WILL BE MOVED TO MORSE PARK NORTH IN NEOSHO, MO BECAUSE OF FLOODING - Apr 5th, 2015
It is often said that April showers bring May flowers. Unfortunately sometimes the April showers bring more than just flowers in May. Kellogg Lake's course in Carthage, Missouri where the 2nd Annual Big Splash Open was to be held this Saturday April 11this flooded. I received many calls, texts and FB messages letting me know that several of the holes and places where temp holes are set up are under water (I will be posting a few pictures on Facebook for people to see). Several of us have decided to move this tournament to Neosho's Morse Park North course because of the current amount of water on the course, There is a few days of rain expected and there is little to no chance of the course drying out by Saturday. I contacted Andrew Sweeton, the Director of the Professional Disc Golf Association, and he agreed this was a good decision. So this year's Big Splash at Kellogg Lake will be renamed “The Little Big Splash Open” in Neosho. Disc Golf Scene, the registration site has been updated of the course and city changes. I am hoping that the PDGA site will reflect the changes on Monday as well. The tournament will go on as planned with only the change of venue.
