Elephant & Castle presents: The 2nd Annual Breaking Chains sponsored by: Dynamic Discs
Players’ Meeting
Welcome to the 2nd Breaking Chains! As always, we’d like to start off by thanking our title sponsor: Elephant & Castle Fine Arms.
A very special thanks to Peace Chapel and especially Dan Bull for the fantastic job he has done on this course since it’s beginning. He definitely goes way above and beyond and we appreciate him and all the volunteers that he puts together to keep improving and making this course one of the best around! Dan named Travis Baker as his right hand man getting the course in tip tip shape. Thank you both for your hard work!
Our Tour Sponsors who continue to make things happen on on our tour are: Dynamic Discs, Innova Champion Discs, Creator Designs, Fossa, Millenium Golf Discs, Discmania, Greazy Dyes, Patriots Gold & Silver, MVP/Axiom, Intuitive Body Works & Massage, Discs Unlimited, Missouri Common Ground Alliance, and Swing Right Golf.
Everyone needs to check in at the pavilion. Also, the PDGA is requiring a signed waiver stating we acknowledge the increased risk of COVID-19 by playing in this tournament. Since you all signed up online, you already signed this.
Speaking of COVID-19, please maintain social distancing at all times before, during, and after the tournament. During check-in, please form three lines, and keep at least 6 feet apart in those lines. Three people at a time will be allowed to check in. There will be water on several holes, but please take care of your self with both food and hydration. stations on the course, and hand sanitizer at each water station. Please do not open the lids, there will be at least two jugs at each station. After the tournament, amateur players receiving a payout will need to form three lines, as 6 people will be allowed in the trailer at any one time.
Scores for the tournament should be kept on the PDGA website. Player course and hole assignments will be posted Friday night at https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/62025. The link to online scoring is https://pdga.com/score/. The access code is PC18. DGM staff will receive them at tournament central. The first round will start at 9:00 a.m. When round one is finished, lunch will be provided in the church. Round 2 should start at 1, but will be determined by the last card in. Player course and round assignments will once again be posted to the PDGA event page, and scores should be kept on pdga.com. Per PDGA rule, if anyone should require a paper scorecard, they can be made available by DGM staff.
Please keep in mind that AT LEAST two people should be keeping score on your card. The PDGA has fixed their electronic scoring such that multiple people can be keeping score at the same time. It will even tell you when different scores were entered for the same person on the same hole. Having multiple scorers will help eliminate mistakes.
Rules for the courses are listed below. MVP/Axiom CTP is hole 2. Trilogy-only CTP is hole 8. Unbranded CTP is hole 17. Even if not specified, tall grass and beyond on all fairways is hazard. Play from where it lies with one stroke penalty. There is no relief from this, except to rethrow from the previous lie with a stroke penalty. In general, the forested area is NOT hazard or OB, unless specified. If there is any question about any throws or lies, try to make a group decision. Remember that the benefit should go to the player. If no decision can be made, play a provisional. When possible, consult with the course TD to determine the correct answer.
