Dale Robert’s Memorial Players Meeting - Sep 1st, 2022
The 15th Annual Dale Roberts Memorial
Players’ Meeting
Welcome to the 15th Dale Roberts Memorial! As always, we’d like to start off by thanking our sponsors:
First and foremost, we'd like to thank our title sponsor, Elephant & Castle Fine Arms. The owner, Doug Bowen, would like everyone to know how much he appreciates the Dale Roberts Memorial, and the Roberts family. Doug just celebrated a birthday this week, and is still looking good and ready to hunt! We appreciate your support over the years.
We have some local sponsors this year because of a great partnership between The John Thomas School of Discovery, Disc Golf Monkey, & Innova Champion Discs. For the last two years I have had the privilege of working with Matt Barker, Joe Schaunacy, and some of the parents as we hold a disc golf tournament on the school’s course. This year they have helped raise money for the DRM and in turn we are trying to raise money for the final baskets on their course. Please donate to the raffle if you would like to help with this fundraising effort! The sponsors that were generated through this partnership are: F45, Ben Shelton Realtors, Anytime Fitness, The Rinne Family, Rage Fitness, Plumb Lily Boutique, and SFI. We appreciate you all so much!
And of course our tour sponsors:
Innova Champion Discs, Dynamic Discs, Creator Designs, Fossa, Millenium Golf Discs, Discmania, Greazy Dyes, Patriots Gold & Silver, MVP/Axiom, Intuitive Body Works & Massage, Discs Unlimited, Missouri Common Ground Alliance, and Swing Right Golf.
We also want to thank The Roberts Family: Amy, Butch & Patsy for supplying the lunch for all the players! This is greatly appreciated.
Everyone needs to check in inside the building. Also, the PDGA is requiring a signed waiver stating we acknowledge the increased risk of COVID-19 by playing in this tournament. Since you all signed up online, you've already signed that waiver.
Speaking of COVID-19, please maintain social distancing at all times before, during, and after the tournament. Check in will be done in the pavilion by the restrooms. Three people at a time will be allowed to check in. There will be water jugs on the course. Please do not remove the lids. After the tournament, amateur players receiving a payout will need to form three lines, as 6 people will be allowed in the trailer at any one time.
Round 1 tees off at 9:00 Scores for the tournament need to be kept on the PDGA website. Player course and hole assignments will be posted by the time registration closes Friday night at https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/62742. The link to online scoring is https://pdga.com/score/. The access code is DRM. Please have at least 2 people keeping score. DGM staff will receive them at tournament central. When round one is finished, lunch will be on your own. Round 2 should start at 1:00 but will be based on last card from the first round. Player course and round assignments will once again be posted to the PDGA event page, and scores should be kept on pdga.com.
All disc golfers please remember that this park is alcohol-free and smoke-free. No smoking of any type is permitted during this tournament. Matt Crouse, the Nixa Parks director, is letting us know that there will be police patrolling the area that day.
Rules for the courses are listed below. Unbranded CTP (sponsored by Innova) is hole 8. Trilogy-only CTP is hole 9. Prodigy-Only CTP is hole 2. MVP/Axiom CTP is hole 7. If there is any question about any throws or lies, try to make a group decision. If no decision can be made, play a provisional. When possible, consult with the course TD to determine the correct answer.
