Encore Recap - Nov 16th, 2024
RECAP of: The 7th Annual DGM Encore - Featuring Elephant & Castle’s 16th Annual Lucky 13
I want to start by thanking several people for helping give the Lucky 13 course a much needed upgrade. First on the list to thank are: Garrett Cline, Brad Stulce, Dalton Welch, and the rest of the Republic Parks & Rec for the great communication during this project. Second, is Craig Goldsberry of 8 Up for always making things look great. It’s always a pleasure partnering up with you Boss! Last, but definitely not least, Craig and I want to thank the volunteers who came out to help with the project: Mark Anderson, Scott Kisling, Dan Routh, Rick Gilmore, Christopher Clay, Joe Likinns, and Peter Michalak. You guys are Rock Stars. We appreciate you very much! The team effort was made just in time to have an awesome tour Reflection Tour Encore.
I want to give a huge shout out to Doug Bowen (who was probably up in a tree stand during the event) for being our title sponsor. We appreciate you and Elephant & Castle’s commitment to the tour. We also want to give a big thank you to all our tour sponsors as well: Elephant & Castle Fine Arms, Patriots Gold & Silver, Kinney Amusement, Dynamic Discs, Innova Champion Discs, Fossa Disc Golf, Prodigy Discs, Creator Designs, MVP/Axiom Discs, Millennium Golf Discs, Discmania, 8Up, Greazy Dyes, Discs Unlimited, Swing Right Golf, Intuitive Body Works & Massage and Sticky Dyes.
The Lucky 13 started off windy, overcast, and cold making the first round tough to score well for most. The sun came shining through for the 2nd round, but the wind did not let up. The new design, baskets, tee pads, and temp signs were well received.
Every player who came out received a Custom Embroidered Lucky 13 Hat, and a custom stamped Halo or Champion Glo disc in the players pack along with a ticket into the raffle for an original Lucky 13 basket! The new course layout and first concrete pads were well received by competitors!
There were 81 players that came out to compete in this tournament, and 9 divisions were represented.
