Refection Tour 2024 Year End Recap - Jan 10th, 2025

The Disc Golf Monkey’s 2024 Reflection Tour Recap

It's that time of year when we say goodbye to 2024 and reflect on the Reflection tour. The DGM Tour has been up and running for 16 years now. It was another successful and fulfilling year of growth for disc golf, generosity and giving back to the community, and countless memorable moments shared amongst competitors and friends. I know there will be things left off this recap, but don’t hesitate to share highlights and pictures you have in the comments.

There would be no tour possible without the DGM tour sponsors, and I cannot thank them enough times. Without tour sponsors we would not be able to have larger payouts, good player packs, CTP prizes, worthwhile raffles that raise charitable funds, or have the funds to put on demos and clinics to grow the sport. I speak for all players, when I say Thank You to all of DGM’s Tour Sponsors for 2024:

Patriots Gold & Silver, Elephant & Castle Fine Arms, Kinney Amusement, Dynamic Discs, Innova Champion Discs, Fossa Disc Golf, Prodigy Discs, Creator Designs, MVP/Axiom Discs, Millennium Golf Discs, Discmania, 8Up, Greazy Dyes, Discs Uqnlimited, Swing Right Golf, Intuitive Body Works & Massage and Sticky Dyes.

In 2024 DGM was part of 27 total events. The main tour consisted of 22 pdga events. Along with the sanctioned events, there were a few non-sanctioned events as well. DGM also had the opportunity to help others host tournaments, install new baskets in the community, raise funds for charity, and install an elementary school course to continue growing the sport. Every bit of hard work over the past year has been worth it. From those just picking up their first disc to those who have been playing and loving the sport for years it is my passion to share and spread the love of this wonderful sport in any way that I can.

DGM completed the second year of doing the Points Challenge Championship which was created last year by Scott Elam. The points challenge featured 4 Divisions, as well as four regions. All players were eligible and there was no cost. Players had to compete in at least one event from 3 of the 4 regions. Points were given by how the players placed. There was no minimum or maximum events that could be played, but only the best 10 tournament scores were used. Congratulations again winners.

To highlight the DGM journey over the past year I want to touch on some of the things that I was most excited to be a part of. We were blessed with more than one opportunity to install new baskets this year! The Lucky 13 course got all new baskets and tee pads which were finished only a week prior to the 16th Annual Lucky 13 tournament. Just in the nick of time! The historic Oak Grove course received new baskets for the first time ever since the course was installed. It was a privilege to be a part of that historic change and we hope to maintain Springfield's OG course for many years to come. A huge thank you to Rick Gilmore for funding the baskets and Craig Goldsberry for the removal and install of the baskets. A big thanks to the Springfield Greene County Parks department for assisting in the installation as well. Another EDGE assisted new course was put in at Matthew's Elementary in Nixa providing yet another opportunity to grow the sport and get youngsters involved in playing.

We continued trying to find new ways to give back to the community. It has been my pleasure and honor to work with multiple charity and non-profit organizations over the past 16 years. I have been continously blown away and truly touched by the generosity of the disc golf community. This year the tour was able to help eight different charitable organizations and raised $11,900! Thank you to all who have been a part of providing back to the community and making these charitable achievements possible!
